SnapIT (“the app”) is a receipt scanner and expense tracker published by
AAIRC. This policy explains what the app does — and does not do —
with your information. In short: SnapIT works entirely on your device and
does not send your receipts, expense data, or any personal information to us or to
any third party.
The short version
All receipt scanning (OCR) happens on your device, offline.
Your receipts, photos, and expense records are stored only on your device.
We operate no servers that receive your data. Nothing is uploaded to AAIRC.
There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking.
You are always in control of exporting or sharing your own data.
Information the app handles (all on your device)
Receipt photos & images — captured with the camera or imported
from your gallery. They stay in the app’s local storage on your device.
Extracted receipt details — merchant, date, totals, tax, tip, payment
method, and line items are read from the image using on-device text recognition
(Google ML Kit, bundled in the app — it does not require an internet connection and
does not transmit your images).
Categories, notes, and budgets — created by you and stored locally.
Optional location — if you grant location permission, the app can tag
a receipt with where you were. Coordinates are converted to a place name using the
Android system’s geocoding service and are stored with that receipt on your device.
Location is entirely optional; deny the permission and the app works normally without it.
Permissions the app requests
Camera — to photograph receipts. Used only when you open the camera.
Location (fine/coarse) — optional, only to tag a receipt with a place
name, and only if you grant it.
The app does not request the internet permission for its own use; it makes no network
calls to AAIRC. (Google Play services components bundled for the camera and location
features may declare their own permissions, but SnapIT does not use them to send your
data anywhere.)
Data you choose to export or share
SnapIT can generate Excel (.xlsx), CSV, and PDF reports of your receipts, and let you
email, share, or print them. These actions are initiated by you, and the
data goes only where you send it (for example, to an email app you choose). AAIRC does not
receive a copy.
Data sharing and selling
We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal information or
expense data with anyone. Because your data never reaches us, we have nothing to share.
Data retention and deletion
Your data lives on your device. You can delete individual receipts, categories, or all
app data at any time from within the app or via your device settings. Uninstalling the
app removes its local data from your device.
Children’s privacy
SnapIT is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. It collects
no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change in a future version, we will update this policy and
revise the “Last updated” date above before the new version is released.
